Donovin Sprague, reknowned Native American author and educational director of the Crazy Horse Memorial, is the keynote speaker at this year’s Custer Week celebration that takes place October 3rd – 10th in the famous General’s hometown of Monroe, Michigan.
Sprague, a direct descendant of Hump and Crazy Horse, will speak about Hump and Crazy Horse at the Little Big Horn and Major Events in Lakota History.
The program presented by the Monroe County Historical Museum will be held next door to the museum at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts, 114 S. Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan on Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 1 to 3 p.m. Click here for PDF brochure of weekend programming.
Last year, Chief Sitting Bull descendant Ernie LaPointe spoke before a standing room crowd. It’s anticipated Sprague will draw as large a crowd, so arrive early.
