
Nancy Darga is the Managing Director of MotorCities National Heritage Area. Ms. Darga is one of the founding members of this organization that was dedicated by Congress in 1989.
The former president of Fortunate Land Planning & Design which specializes in heritage tour development is a licensed landscape architect. She served as Chief of Design for Wayne County Parks from 1978 -2003 spearheading many large regional park and trail development projects
During her tenure with the County of Wayne she was one of the founding members of Friends of the Rouge River. For her efforts she was awarded the Friends of the Rouge Award in 1997.
In 1999, Nancy was awarded the Michigan Public Servant of the Year Award by the Public Administration Foundation, Inc. for her extensive community outreach programs.
For her continued work in historic preservation and heritage trail development, Ms. Darga was presented with the Governor Swainson State of Michigan Historic Preservation Award by the Michigan Department of Interior in 2005.
